Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Hospialised, SAD Raises Concern Over Health of CM
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was hospitalized at Fortis Hospital in Mohali on the night of September 25. While the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) maintained that Mann was undergoing a routine health checkup as he was suffering from hypertension, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia raised concerns, questioning the party’s transparency regarding Mann’s health status.
According to a news report Free Press Journal, Majithia demanded AAP clarify the details surrounding the Chief Minister’s condition, insisting that the people of Punjab deserved to know the truth. “Is everything alright with the Chief Minister or not?” Majithia remarked, adding that there was a need for greater transparency about Mann’s well-being.
In a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Majithia made serious allegations, claiming that Mann had fainted multiple times and experienced breathing difficulties the previous night. He further alleged that the Chief Minister is suffering from liver cirrhosis, warning that Mann may require a liver transplant if his condition does not improve. “Excessive alcohol consumption has caused damage to his liver,” Majithia asserted, claiming this was the reason Mann had been receiving treatment at Apollo Hospital, but had to seek emergency care at Fortis due to his worsening condition.
Majithia also drew a dramatic comparison to the situation involving late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, urging Fortis Hospital to ensure full transparency in Mann’s treatment. He concluded his video by wishing Mann a speedy recovery.
Last week, Bhagwant Mann was reportedly treated at Delhi’s Apollo Hospital, but no official details were shared by AAP or the Punjab government. Despite the party’s assurances that the visit was routine and Mann was in good health, no official statements have been issued on the matter.
